Decorating Cents Monday

While in the processing of making over the foyer, I came across this 1910 Vintage Vase online, but for $649 (on sale) this was out of the frazzled budget.

Great Find:   a gorgeous and slightly larger version at etsy for only $28.  The artist was inspired by her own lemon tree.
It brings back memories of my Papa's lemon tree in the backyard. Many years Papa is up to his ears in lemons, and gives bag fulls away to friends at church.  Growing up in So Cal was amazing!

Ok, I need to stop rambling...Back to the vase...let's share a little about this beautiful vase.

Sandra from claydame describes her piece as...
Here's a little twist on nature. This one was inspired by my lemon tree. The vase was hand thrown and carved then glazed in a bright glossy yellow. Vase measures approx. 7 3/4" tall and 3" across at the opening and 3 1/2" across at the base. The inside is glazed with gloss white and is water tight.

claydame has an assortment of unique pieces at very reasonable prices and she is in San Diego.

Fabric Paint + Tote

I had a small tote floating around and some extra gray fabric paint.
The painters tape was MIA, but this shipping tape worked out great.
The tape was laid down in stripes, and once painted and dried, flipped over and repeated!
Too Easy!

It makes the perfect little grab and go tote.
Fits my Bible, steno pad and pen easily and is ready to go when I am.

Paper Storage

Ever thought about where to store 12x12" scrapbook paper?

Check out my Mother's Day gift from my hubby.

He made it from stratch, (super impressed) each shelf 13x13", so it holds all my papers perfectly.

De Colores

As many of you know, I went on Walk To Emmaus in the spring.
It was the most amazing spirit-filled weekend ever!

So when I was at a creative block... the rooster came to mind and the cool song we learned!

So I grabbed the following from the closet:

8x10 canvas
painters tape
rooster cut from card stock on Silhouette
craft paint in rainbow colors
sponge brush

The rooster is in the middle and I simply taped off the areas for the 6 different colors.

Once all six areas were painted, remove the tape and the rooster.

The words were cut using the Silhouette also.

I think it looks pretty good up on the baker's rack.
Maybe I can turn them into greeting cards?  Who knows, with Him all things are possible.

If you have not ever heard of Walk to Emmaus, check it out here.

And that song I was speaking of, here are the lyrics in case you thought I was totally off my rocker.

De Colores

De Colores the fields love to dress in all during the springtime
De Colores
De Colores the birds have their clothing that comes every season
De Colores
De Colores the rainbow is vested across the blue sky
De Colores and so must all love be
of many bright colors
to make my heart cry

De Colores and so must all love be
of many bright colors
to make my heart cry

Sings the rooster
Sings the rooster with his kiri kiri kiri kiri kiri
And the cluck hen with her cara cara cara cara cara
And the baby chicks
And the baby chicks with their pio pio pio pio pi

De Colores and so must all love be
of many bright colors
to make my heart cry

De Colores and so must all love be
of many bright colors
to make my heart cry.

Free ebook- Dressed Up Moms' Devotions to Go

I just stumbled upon this adorable free ebook on Amazon.
But first let me come clean about two things...
"Hello, My Name is Jen, and I am an Amazon-aholic"
and
"I frequently judge a book by it's cover"
So, when this cute little book popped up as a freebie-
well it went straight to the Buy now with 1-click not-really-a-cart, cart.

I am looking forward to reading this summer, and NO textbooks allowed!
Any good reads you would recommend?

Front Door {welcome}

Our front door looked pretty drab, but lucky for him, I had more energy today than normal.

The little wooden spring sign was 70% off at Joann's in the Easter section and the {welcome} was today's bit of creative fun.

I cannot claim this as my creative thinking, I have seen many fabulous blogs feature similar ideas in the last few months.

So we {welcome} spring, friends (new & old) and bugs alike!

Lots of bugs this spring in Atlanta- yuk!
